With the EU looking for new sources of natural gas after Gazprom stopped deliveries via Nord Stream to countries that didn't agree to new payment terms - the US is now supplying more natural gas to Europe than Russia sends by pipelines. (International Energy Agency)
In March, the EU agreed to add 15 billion cubic metres of the US LNG as an alternative to Russian gas.
However, combined with Russian LNG, Moscow continues to be the largest overall supplier of gas to the EU, far ahead of the US, Qatar and Algeria.
